Chocolate-Covered Prosecco Strawberries

by Pia Kai

In this simple, festive recipe, strawberries are transformed into a bite-size drink. To make this traditional dessert with a boozy update, soak the strawberries in prosecco or your favorite wine overnight before dipping in chocolate for a treat everyone will love.

Prep Time: 20 mins

Total Time: 8 hrs 45 mins

Yield: 6

Ingredients:

  • 12 medium strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • 2 cups prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • ⅓ cup bittersweet chocolate chips (2 ounces)

Directions:

Step 1
In a medium mixing bowl, combine strawberries and prosecco. To keep the strawberries soaked, place a dish on top of them. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight, covered.

Step 2
Remove the strawberries to a paper towel-lined plate and pat dry. Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until melted, about 1 minute. Dip the strawberries in the chocolate and place on a wax paper-lined plate.

Step 3

Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, 15 to 20 minutes.
